Housed in a heritage building, the Deaf Culture Centre spans 2 floors and includes an exhibit area, a kitchen, gift shop, offices, archives, multimedia studio and boardroom. The unique needs of the Deaf community are at the heart of the design to ensure comfort within the space. A vibrant color palette, bold graphics derived from sign language signage by designer Bruce Mau and glass panels between offices to allow clear sightlines were utilized. This project won a Best of Canada Design Award from the Canadian Interiors Magazine Awards.
